Software for recording audio from your soundcard?

Does anyone know of any free software you can use to record audio that's your pc is playing (to wav or mp3 etc)? I only know of Total Recorder and I really don't wanna buy a license for a program i'm only gonna use once

there's a radio show on at 1am with an interview i wanna hear and i really cant be doing with staying up till 1 for it to start then sit thru the whole 2hour show
