anyway, my review:
cracked rear view - hootie and the blowfish
the debut album from hootie was the third best selling debut album ever on its release (the second being appetite for destruction by guns'n'roses, and the top being boston by boston, one hit wonders with more than a feeling). it was a guitar based, rocking album with one of the best tunes i have ever heard on it, hold my hand. (somehow i've managed to miss the album and song off my best of lists
unfortunately, this was hooties best album, the next four never living up to their first. this album still holds a special place in my heart, and i wa going to name my first daughter hannah jane after the opening track on the album. but that phase has passed.
everyone should get the chance to listen to this wonderful album.

Absolute trance class.. melodic and uplifting with gatecrasher squelching... just wait for those extended breakdowns and then the huge build up in to pure trance heaven

Mondo Generator - A Drug Problem That Never Existed
Mondo Generator - A Drug Problem That Never Existed
Mondo Generator is the solo project from Queens Of The Stone Age bassist/vocalist Nick Oliveri, and people have called this album a collection of songs that didnt fit on the last QOTSA album, but if that's true it don't matter, coz this is equally as good as the brilliant Songs For The Deaf.
This is good ole rock'n'roll with a twist of insanity, and some of the tunes are really catchy for a hard rock album, altho thankfully none of it will ever make daytime Radio1.
The only downside to this album is the length (14 tracks, mostly about 2minutes long), but this is irrelevant when you have track names like "meth, I hear you callin'" and "open up and bleed for me".
I give this album after 4 listens in one morning
