Decent PSU?

I'm getting a new case anyway,and don't they come with a psu?

where would i find that error log, in the bios?

not all cases come with a psu but when they do the psu is usually a rubbish generic one. you would be better getting a case without a psu and buying a branded psu seperately

event viewer is in admin tools which can be found in the control panel

YOu said about getting a branded 1 like enermax . Well i was looking about and found 1
tis a Antec TruePowver 430 12V AC 430W ATX might just order 1 l8r if a can't find it anywhere cheaper. It's ?64.22 inc VAT not bad me tinks,not really sure what u should be paying for a goodun.

I'll check out that other 1 aswell.

also checked out tha enermax and it looks pretty phat

I was looking at a 420w i tink but when i checked if they had them in stock they didn't they say 2 weeks

the only 1 they had in stock was the 350w psu it seems to have more features than the 1 i was looking at.

well i use a 350w enermax and i have a pretty stacked system with loads of peripherals via usb. i good 350w branded psu is better than a 450w unbranded one at the end of the day as the voltage rails will be far steadier.

saying that try and get the highest wattage you can as it will leave more room for upgradinging and overclocking.

If your after a decent PSU, I strongly recommend getting a TruePower.

Most generic PSUs might be rated for 450 W or something, but thats their MAX output, not the constant output.

My PSU was reasonably cheap, and its a TruePower 480 W (Max output of 550 W

)

Didnt say they were mate, Enermax make fine PSUs

Just recommending the ThermalTake as Im currently running one, ad theyre cheap-ish

Pity that black 1's out of stock,says it's going to be a long wait too!
I quite like the look of the Thermaltake Xaser Silent Purepower 480W PSU Black,at least it will go with me new black case

Right time to order i reckon

Theyre all pretty much the same PSU on the page that I linked, except the Silent versions dont have the spangly flashy innards the Butterflys do. Not that youd notice the innars flasing in a non windowed case anyway!

so i went for that black Thermaltake Xaser Silent 480W instead and it came today

Hell of alot of power connectors there

can't wait to fit it
