Being first to the terabyte mark gives Hitachi bragging rights, and more importantly, the ability to offer single-drive storage capacity 33% greater than that of its competitors. Hitachi isn't banking on capacity alone, though. The 7K1000 is also outfitted with a whopping 32MB of cache?double what you get with other 3.5" hard drives. Couple that extra cache with 200GB platters that have the highest areal density of any drive on the market, and the 7K1000's performance could impress as much as its capacity.
if I knew how to convert a DivX file back into normal DVD standard with out losing the quality then I'd already be doing that, however I am yet to find a solution that doesn't make the quality completely shitearse
If you were ripping your own DVD's to DivX and then at a later date back to DVD again, you have the freedom to select the bitrate to encode the DivX file. You could probably have some insanly high bitrate and still have it at a smaller file size than 4.7GB (or whatever the DVD is). If you are however downloading DivX files off the net then you're always gonna get shitarse quality because they are encoded at a lower bitrate.

I'm saying you should have a PC with a 1TB drive hooked up to your TV and then you wouldn't need to faff around with discs maing your life much easier.
I'd also need a machine capable of handling 200 graphics cards, and playing 200 DVD-quality movies simultaneously, then I'd need 200 sound cards and 200 sets of speakers, as there's no point watching porn without the sound....
