early 2007 kev :(

if you're after a shooter i recommend Farcry for the PC (now really cheap, still one of the best shooters out there and still looks bloody fantastic) or Prey :alt:

no problem but beware once the pc gaming bug has bitten your wallet will never be the same :p

make sure you patch Farcry up for extra enhancements etc.

It's probably where I was spoilt by the joys of HL2, but I really have been underwhelmed so far with Far Cry :o the exterior parts are pretty good fun running about in the undergrowth, but the interior parts are pretty shoddy, especially the detection of the player by the badguys, found several times that you run past a wall and are barraged by a load of "hey what's that?" style sound effects only to find that you actually get to the room that the supposed bad guy is in about half an hour later ffs, it's odd to say the least

cant say ive noticed that problem - what i like about farcry is the open ended gameplay. almost all situations can be approached from many different ways and directions.

i also love the fact it really makes you thinks due to the excellent AI. i used to keep getting killed and then spends time away from the game working out new strategies - usually whilst taking a dump :p

yeah that aspect is really good i agree. also been having other sound problems tonight, the sound kept clipping and making strange noises.

also i didnt like the fact that when it installed and it checked my system out it came up as my system spec was "Very High", but then set all the options to minimums
