People who illegally share music files online are also big spenders on legal music downloads, research suggests.

Digital music research firm The Leading Question found that they spent four and a half times more on paid-for music downloads than average fans.

Kinda backs up my point that if the music is good enough, people will pay for it anyways, they may download it illegally first, but if they like it based on that they'll then pay for the tune properly, and if not, they'll discard it.

My solution then to battling lost profits in the music biz is to start making better music

also confirms my feelings that the selection on legal download services isnt yet large enough. there's loads of stuff not on napster i would love to listen too but it just aint there.
