Want a new PC
rite well ive just taken my geforce 4 etc out of this pc ready to take down to aria tomorrow so no more gaming for me (using a lousy geforce 2 mx at the mo)
have decided to stick 2 80gb hard drives in and probably get xp with it to so for once in my life i have a certified OS
total cost should be ?700 but i'll let u know the final spec tomoz when ive ordered.
pino did the barton XP2500+ work ok without a bios flash straight from the box so to speak?

Well I realised how badly that I had been conned when buying my first PC when you gave me that price ed, as i payed about that for the fubar lump I have now. In fact the only good thing in my pc at the mo is probably the processor!! Anyway, my parts should come on wednesday, so ill be building it soon. Sort of wish id bought 2x 512 sticks now, but my 2x 256s should do.
OK new PC is ordered and the final specs are:
AMD AthlonXP 2600+
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Nforce 2
Chieftec Dragon Silver
Enermax 350w VE PSU
MSI GeForce 4 Ti4200 128mb DDR
1GB Corsair XMS2700 DDR SDRAM (2 x 512MB sticks)
160GB Western Dig ATA100/7200 8MB Cache (2 x 80GB drives)
LG 52 CDROM
LG 12x8x32x8 CDRW/DVDROM
Creative Live Digital 5.1 surround
3?" Floppy Drive
thanks for the advice everyone

wouldnt be a very good base is what im saying - thus me buying a new one - would have loved to upgrade the old one.. the mobo is crap and u cant upgrade the processor. u would be best off buying a ?250 base unit form a local pc shop with say and athlon 1700+ that u can build up from there.
i made a big mistake with this one and bought it from micredirect who ripped me good and proper. bastids!
