It's actually an instructors paddle, so it can be used to signal whether or not it is safe for the next paddler to come through in difficult water. Red = no go, green (on my fluoriscent paddle it's actually yellow

) means go.

Nope

The paddle was a gift though and I like the fact that it's so bright (one can actually see it in the water)
