W950 looks nice, sounds good- but i'd like a cam on my phone for the times i don't have a cam with me, but then again i'm not the target market) However, the only review i've seen about it was a negative review.

http://www.lordpercy.com/sony_ericsson_w950i_review.htm

Although, i have forgotten what it said about it that was bad, probs only about it having no camera?

Edit: Just seen mobilereview's review, which is kind of positive :). So...

It has no camera :)

And quite frankly I very much doubt I would miss the camera. I've had cams on Z600 and V800 and both make rather crappy pictures. I have a Sony digicam with a good lens that makes good enough pics and short films, why would I need a cam on my ohone which I am most likely not going to use more than twice in the entire lifespan of the phone? Instead it has 4GB memory which I do see some use for, it runs Symbian which is nice, it does themes, it brings back my old friend the jogdial and instead of cam it could double as a hoepfully half decent moosic player for me (since I only have an iPod Shuffle and when I sell the car I might end up spending more time not driving, hence listening to mossic while being transported someplace ;) )

I'm pretty sure not having a cam won;t bother me at all :)

the camera on a phone is it's main feature, i love the having one around. wouldn't buy a phone without one but that's just me :alt:

that's ok Ed. For me the main feature of any phone used to be it's ability to display themes. And it's still one of my main criteria ;)

Still I must say that recently I've mainly used my phone to make calls, receive calls or send and receive text messages.... your basic mobile functions really. I've used the cam once in the past 6 months, I've used UMTS services heavily when I had no broadband at home, but only once (when on the road) since my broadband was conected........ I rarely listen to music on it because it drains the battery too much, although I quite enjoy the function. The only 'extra' thing I do use frequently is games, whenever I'm bored I play games on it........

I quite like the looks of W950 (and the pouch!! OMG I LOVE the pouch!!!), but it appears as if the M600 offers mainly the same items (possibly except the radio?) and is cheaper? (and uglier and doesn't have the cute pouch... :( )

As you can tell from this post I've spent some quality time around esato.... I now know the most important things about these two phones...... and based solely on looks I prefer the W950 :P (and the pouch.... mmmmmmmm)

just seen that they do the W950i on 3 now so i could get that in 10days when they sort me out. it does look nice but not owning a camera means i do like to have one on my phone, so prolly stick with K800i methinks

agreed :)

Nicer than M600 imho (which seems to be a bit more business aimed?)

My cintract runs out in Feb 07 though, last time I upgraded I got the phone the day I ordered, then finished my contract (3 months) and then started new contract, ported my number etc etc.

This time they seem to want to make me start a brand new contract today, which really isn't a very good idea :( need to get Orange to have it start in Feb and send me the phone now :P

With 4GB it has no expandable memory I guess, now I'm wondering wether or not I want expandable memory.... not because I won't have plenty with 4GB for some time to come, but for easiness of swapping content between devices when simply exchanging memory sticks....... oooooh decisions decisions..... :para:

just looked on the SE site, doesnt look like it has expandable memory, but there again most phones only come with about 64mb of internal memory and only support up to 1gb expandable, so 4gb internal is still better :)

mate at work has got the W950i now, it is a very nice phone indeed, looks very stylish, isn't too bulky at all, touchscreen works very well (and seems of a much higher quality the the old P800/P900 touchscreens), I want it!
