What Games are you Currently Playing?
Re: What Games are you Currently Playing?
It got really mediocre reviews on consoles, read a couple and you'll see. From a couple of PC review summaries I've ready they've apparently taken all the negative feedback into account and sorted it out. Exact points I couldn't really tell you as it's never been really high on my list and therefore haven't been reading up on it much.

"Assassin's Creed could easily have been one of the best games of 2007. It is, without question, impressive on several fronts. But developer Ubisoft Montreal took some missteps along the way and squandered the immense potential of its pseudo-stealth action title. A bad story, repetitive gameplay elements, and poor AI lead to the downfall of one of the more promising games in recent memory. Assassin's Creed could have been one of the great games of this generation. Instead, it turned into just another action title."
I agree with that, i played it for a day however i can see how it gets repetitive.
AI i didn't really noticed too much and the storey i don't know. However, the graphics and game play that went into it hit the target. imo

Yep, very repetitive, that's why I gave up with it. Also agree with the sotry bit - the present-day part of the story just doesn't seem relative and is just an annoying distraction. Didn't notice any problems with the AI though.

don't think I'll get anywhere near the Wii to play Mario any more now - gotta go back to work so can't play it whilst everyone's out, and the whole family are now obsessed with Wii Fit

GTA:IV
only played a coupla hours far. driving controls are taking a bit of getting used to (RT=accelerate, LT=brake, RB=handbrake), plus the cars handle much more realisticly so keeping them on the straight and narrow is more of a challenge. One thing I noticed was the use of light - if you lose your headlights at night in an area with no street lights it becomes very difficult!
Already have a girlfriend that I've been bowling with (she beat me), been out for a meal with, and done the wild thing with at her apartment
Also been out drinking with cousin Roman, then had to get the two of us back home whilst barely being able to stand up - mucho fun!
Not gone for a proper explore yet, just been doing a few missions

Yeah friend of mine has the game and was playing it last night. Driving is indeed very hard, go flying through the window in big crashes to. Seems easy to lose police though (well from 3 stars and under).
The no-loading screen when going into buildings is also much better
