US gets Xbox 360 price cut

Microsoft is to cut the US price of its main Xbox 360 game console by 13% in a bid to boost summer holiday sales.

The Premium model console will go on sale for $350 (?172) down from the earlier price of $400, from August 8.

The move comes after rival Sony made its PlayStation 3 (PS3) 17% cheaper in the US, with a price tag of $500.

Microsoft is also making its Xbox 360 Core, which has no hard drive, and its 120-gigabyte Elite model, cheaper in a bid to target a wider audience.

article doesn't state that it's not anywhere else, but I assume that can be implied from what is said....

PS didn't cut price here. Article said m$ cut price due to the PS price cut there. So maybe m$ will just offer an extra game over here?

Ah well doubt i'll get one as halo 3 comes out when i'm at uni so

Microsoft is cutting the price of its Xbox 360 video game console in Europe, weeks after doing the same in the US.

From 24 August, the 20 gigabyte hard drive model will cost 349.99 euros (?237.49), 50 euros less than now.

And the price of the less advanced 360 core model, without a hard drive, will fall by 20 euros to 279.99 euros.

Microsoft, facing stiff competition in the market from Nintendo and Sony, also revealed plans to launch a 120 gigabyte model, costing 449.99 euros.
