Word Line bug

I think how it occurred was i made a line then when it went onto a new page it duplicated itself. Well my problem is all over my coursework i have these lines which i cannot delete. Cannot click them and press delete or any option to delete them. Only solution is to hide them with a white box. Anyone know how to delete them though?

looks like a line you've placed in the footer, am I right? the footer will repeat onto every page (although there may be an option to change that), your best bet is to delete the line from the footer on the first page, then add it in the body of the page you want it on, rather than in the footer

Nope not in a footer. Basically i used a line to separate the text from the appendix. The line was in the middle of the page, then entered text before it. Once the line went onto another page it messed up and i couldn't delete it.

I have them all over my work, not on all pages but a few of them.

The lines are even appearing in the middle of pages. Although tbh they are acting as if they're in a footer.



All i can see to do is move them up and down but only by a small amount . If i press delete above them the line moves up but once i reach the line it stops moving remains there and the text just gets deleted from under it

copy and paste your work into notepad to remove all formatting then paste it back into a new word doc.

Select the text either side of each line, and change the formatting to "Clear Formatting", that gets rid of it (works for me on the example you gave), then go back and put your normal formatting back in. Then use drawing tools to put the line in where you need it. How did you create the line in the first place?

Thanks . It's funny, if you just select the line and do it the line remains. You have to select from "Asdsdasda" for it to disappear .

Anyway, hopefully it works on my cwk when i try it at cols

it's because however you inserted the line to start with you did it as formatting on teh text itself, so the line is actually attached to the text....

Well it worked thanks. Some tables messed up because of the page numbers (end of table overlayed beginning) so i had to put them in separate documents with no page numbers and print separately. Stupid bugs
