Mobile operator 3 abolishes roaming charges

Mobile phone network 3 has abolished roaming charges for its UK customers in seven nations including Italy, Australia and the Republic of Ireland.

Its users will no longer be charged extra for making or receiving calls or texts when visiting the countries.

3 said there would be no one-off fees, and that its users would automatically gain the service.

The other places in which it has abolished the fees are Austria, Hong Kong, Sweden and Denmark.

which is lakes as far as i'm concerned as i'm going to Ireland in March adn i'm on 3

when I was in Ireland before xmarse my phone was connected to 3 Ireland all the time then so I thought it was a bit harsh of them to charge roaming fees, seems they heeded my thoughts

trouble is i cant get anything like the deal i'm getting now with any other network, so may well be renewing my contract

1000 texts for ?30/month - no-one else can touch that ffs and i use nearly all my allocation each month

wow that's a whole lot of texting in the 3 days a month you have a working phone

no I now have a shithot working phone (albeit due to a cockup by 3, but who's counting?)
