In an earlier thread we were talking about the benefits of Windows Live Local over Google Maps.
Well as of yesterday Microsoft launched a new release of Virtual Earth, which is a plugin for Windows Live Local that works similarly to Google Earth (but in your web browser), making your map views 3D.
It only works in Internet Explorer 6/7 on Windows machines, but to get it go to http://www.virtualearth.com (which actually redirects you to the Live Local page) and click the Download Now button on the left and follow the instuctions.
Not much of the UK is covered in 3D yet (I spotted a few buildings (churches etc) in London), but there's some really cool stuff if you heard over to the USA
