UK consumers get to have a Wii before Xmas

Nintendo's Wii console will launch in Europe on 8 December reveals the games firm.

At launch, Nintendo expects the console to cost 249 euros (?179) and will come bundled with the Wii Sports series of games.

The first games for the console will go on sale at prices between 49 and 59 euros (?34-?39 in the UK).

Nintendo said about 20 games would be available on launch date including The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

i'm tempted, but i'm also tempted with Xbox 360, i've gone right off the idea of PS3 now, but don't think I can justify the cost of any of them at the moment coz I have two Dublin trips and a New York trip in the next 9months

yeah i'll be getting a wii at some point. probably not a ps3 though as most of games are being released on the ps3 and 360 so not really much point for the foreseeable future.

i have a distinct feeling that HD-DVD will win the next-gen storage disc wars, so even less point in a PS3 tbh, I think Sony have blown it big time now

i tend to agree, seems a lot of die hard playstation fans are jumping ship but only time will tell.
