not touched GTA since Wipeout arrived

time for my rant about the flawed genius that is Wipeout Pure:

this game is farkng excellent, but a couple of flaws ruin the experience a little:

- the most annoying thing is the fact that you can't see when you go into the game what stuff you've completed and what you ain't so it's easy to end up doing the same thing needlessly more than once unless you don't mind going out the game and into the progress screen a lot, which brings me to:

- the progress screen involves you scrolling all the way thru the bastid thing to get to the info you want, it's not split into easily-navigated sections. Whole lotta my time wasted scrolling thru my Single Race achievements coz I can't remember which tournaments i've completed yet

- the changing skins thing is good, but some of them you can't read all the text in some screens

- they've missed a trick with the downloadable tracks/ships/skins/music concept, how hard would it've be for them to write some software for pc so we could create our own content for the game, thus increasing longevity greatly?

- you can't shoot backwards any more! could do in the game's PS1 and PS2 predecessors, but not on this one, so when you're winning most weapons now just become opportunities to absorb them and gain energy, as being as all races are 3 laps there's never any chance of catching up with back-markers and wasting their punk arses

those aside, i farkin love the game, completed Alpha, Beta, Ascension, Omega, Classic 2 tournaments in Vector class plus Alpha in Venom (Vector is ultra-easy so i just been pissing thru them when i get the off 10mins), not had a chance to play Time Trial or Zone modes yet, but I gather they're the same as they were on earlier versions

Pirahna, Qirex or the Van Uber ships (Van Uber for me) are the best to race in. I have the Icaras and the Zone ship and they're both bloody fast but are about as stable as Vanessa Feltz on a paper tripod in the rain.
I'm up to doing Ascencsion on Rapier class and it's bastard hard as you have to be bloody psychic to navigate some of the corners. You using the barrel roll and shifting? It helps looooooooooooooooooooooooads.

just tried Piranha too, tis nice and quick but the handling sucks more balls than a 10cent hooker, Puma1 is the life fer me!

anyone know why i've not unlocked Classic tournament yet? got golds in alpha beta ascension omega classic2 delta and gamma now but still not got access to classic

The thing about the Van Uber is that it's arse heavy, which helps in the later stages as you can swing it around corners reeeeeeally easily (which is a neccessity on Rapier) and I decimate the competition in that ship. Having said that, I clocked a new best lap on Vineta K with an AG Systems ship the other day!

Maybe we should all get X Connect up and running and set up a Guru4u Wipeout Pure tournament?

Get Gold on Alpha Tournament.

ASCENSION TOURNAMENT:
Get Gold on Beta Tournament.

GAMMA TOURNAMENT
Get Gold in all Gamma league tracks in Single Race.

DESCENSION TOURNAMENT
Unlock Gamma Tournament.

DELTA TOURNAMENT
Get Gold in all Delta League tracks in Single Race.

CLASSIC 2 TOURNAMENT
Get Gold in all Classic 2 League tracks in Single Race.

OMEGA TOURNAMENT
Get Gold in all Omega league tracks in Single Race.

KARBONIS
Get Gold in all Alpha and Beta league tracks in Single Race mode in either Vector or Venom class.

SAGARMATHA
Gain a total of 25 unique Golds.

MANOR TOP
Gain a total of 40 unique Golds.

MANDRASHEE
Gain a total of 60 unique Golds.

Zone:

MALLAVOL
Get Gold on Pro Tozo.

CORIDON 12:
Get Gold on Mallavol

SYNCOPIA
Get Gold on Coridon 12.

ZONE CRAFT
Get Gold in all four Zone tracks. Has an utterly shite shield but is faster than Linford Christie with the squits.

MEDIEVIL CRAFT
Gain a total of 70 unique Golds. Is shite.

LIVERY MODE
Gain at least Bronze in Flash Ascension. Allows you to change the colour scheme of the craft by using the D Pad at craft selection.
