I see it continuously, along with a popup window saying it's convinced there should be something called 'data.cpi' which cannot be found.

This on the windows VM

Maybe your permissions are wrong :?: it needs to be able to write to the folder you run it in

in windows I have full permissions to do anything, even things I don't know I'm doing. :para:

Have you changed the location in the config?

Under datafile, browse to where it is and select it :)

what're the errors? all i did was unpack the archive into it's own directory in program files, then run updatecheckaupdater (with updatechecka off), then point it in the direction of the data file

edit: do you have .Net 2.0 installed? chris said it won;t work without that

yeah might be an idea to actually get it running in windows first :p i not ever used VMWare in Ubuntu, any good?

Hang on..... Winblows insist on using last known good settings as apparently something has buggered up in the meantime :para:


VMWare is a resource hog imho, it works well but it's intensive.

yep that error means that either you haven't given it the right path to the file, or it's buggered :para:
