Dodgy MP3's or Dodgy Surround Sound?

Post by fac51 »

Been having an issue over the past few months where on some mp3's the volume seems to undulate. ie get louder and quiter.. it's really pissing me off now!

i installed a codec/proggy for winamp to regulate the sound volume between mp3's a while back so was wondering if it was that but it still happens in media player (not sure if the codec/proggy i insalled affects all players?)

i have removed my creative sound card so thats not the isssue - it's is either my surround set up or a software issue i guess - was just wondering if any of u have encountered a similar problem?

erm pretty sure a codec will affect all players, but a codec is different from a program, and a program will probably only be affecting Winamp, why don't u send me one of the MP3s and i'll see if i get the same effect?
