I was reading in pc pro's web site that ms are slowly opening up the autoupdate so not to bog down there servers. Also it should be on the mags cover cd soon.

apparently it conflicts with a few programs, e.g. one of my friends had to download a nero update to get nero working again.

Also, it is really strict about antivirus/windows updates etc if you don't have it switched on, it naggs you all the time (even on the boot screen!)

I think they have rearranged the startup now so the security settings are applied first, before any programs are started (stops some viruses etc)

got sp2 running on both my pc's now had an initial issue downloading to my main pc which i quickly narrowed down to a modified boot.ini (i have my own boot screen). sorted that and off we went. the only problem i had was my version of theme xp didnt work and my desktop looked shite again, a quick update sorted that also. so all in all so far so good
