Windows back to default settings :-(

Bloody pc reset last nite and restored all default settings,lost all emails,email settings,saved passwords. Any1 know he i can get my settings back? Posted from a mobile

system restore in xp would do it i guess, if you havent got xp then no idea

oh well i got 2000pro

me old man tinks i should beable to get my MS outlook settings back by searching for a file called .pst

the rest i dont know,might switch to xp when i've done a reinstall

On my old win98 pc the start up menu has a bunch of options, one of which is 'start with last known good setup' I would think win2k should have something similar? Not checked that yet, mind! ;-) [color=orange][size=84]W@pW@pping away.....[/color][/size]

yeah you could try the F8 trick Vlam suggested, but yeah you were right bout the pst files...

I believe they are located in

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

i looked for .pst files but.. none yeah i know bout the f8 trick but that can be worse as it could restore to a config that was no good then i can't go back so..

i'm buying a new HD ,reinstall

I could but that means backing up stuff on that hd

which i cba with. So i'll keep this 1 till i can copy all my stuff over. And btw i was tinking of getting new hd anyways

i need a new big hard drive too. filled my most of the 160gb's on my main pc and most of the 40gb on my networked pc

want a 200gb drive now

SCSI I bet tho. Never heard of Atlas tho, only Atlas I've heard of was a name of a hard drive produced by Maxtor....
