My mate gave me a coupla 10Gb hard-drives, and a coupla sticks of RAM (1 - 128mb, 1- 64mb)

installed one of the HDs all by myself, twas partitioned so my PC now thinks i have 3 HDs :o
the RAM unfortunately was SDRAM, and i have DDR so couldnt use it :(

why not remove the partition on the new hard drive or even better reformat it?

have formatted both partitions, dont know how to remove the partition or reformat it as one?

erm well you could fdisc it but an easier way would be to use partition magic. im sure there muct be a trial version available that you oculd use as a one off.

Or do a low level format (it\'s free!) Go to the manufacturers site and find the prog. Takes bloody ages tho! <br/><br/><i>Posted from a cellular device</i>

de-partitioning done :)

incidentally, the readme on PartitionMagic says that i should all removable media drives after fixed drives in the chain, i just whacked the second HDD into the spare cable bit on the first HDD, maybe this is why my CD-Rom acting weird

your two hard drives should use one ide cable and your 1 or 2 cdroms should use the other. make sure you have one hard drive set as master and one set as slave and the same goes for your cdroms if you have changed the cables they use.

the hard drives should use the same cable as you have done - this is to make sure they run at their optimum speed

not touched the cdrom at all, and i have the main harddrive set to master and the second one set to slave and on the same cable as the master, so should be no problems then
