i just bought myself a 4 port adsl ethernet router :D

which allows me to have 3 pc's hooked up without having to av a pc on all the time, or need any extra software. It cost me ?100 with 50m of rj45 cable.
(2x25m lengths)
which aint bad,at least i tink so..

Even with the 3 pc's online it still seems quick, but was wondering is there anyway i can test this?

Just do a speed test on each one. Get the other 2 downloading a nice big file each and test the 3rd.

Thats what I meant but if you get the others d/l a file then you can see what speed you get if the others are doing something.

No my router aint got a firewall, apparently it's not the best of ideas.
better to keep em separate. :)
but it has got sumit which u can configure to act like a firewall(i tink)
u make a virtual server, not too sure about all that tho.

and yes i could do that :)
,set 2 downloading while running test.
Btw i couldn't get onto http://www.bandwidthplace.com as it said CGI limit exceded.

but found this 1 instead http://www.numion.com/

yeah i did try quite a few but they ranged from site to site,i tink that 1 give me the best result. :)

Said i had a average of 489kbs which was when 1 of the other pc's was on and not doing much, just surfing web.

i'm going to try it soon while setting the two downloading sumit and see what it is then.

umm i just checked that site u posted all i found was a computer speed test which said i had poor computer speed, high risk crashes, servere memory leaks..WTF
then goes on to say if i pay $10 i could optimize my windows package,"CON" my pc aint slow at all.
it's not what u know,it's who u know.
