Windows XP Runs Out?

I've heard this twice now so was wondering if anyone could clear this up for me. Ive read and been told that Windows XP can only be used so many times and then 'runs out'

now i think they mean it needs reactivating not actualy becoming uselss as that would suck total donkey balls!

anyone know for sure to give me peace of mind

just cant believe it would be true. i know you have to reactivate it if you change a lot of hardware (to stop you using on other machines) and stuff but for it to stop working permenantly would suck!

yeah i read earlier that you have to reactivate after 6 hardware changes and/or motherboard change, but it's a (in teh US) free-phone number

xp is great

but ive found out the full story.. yoo get 5 chances to reactivate after reinstalls of MAJOR hardware changes (i have changed my graphics and sound card without any need to reactivate) and then after 5 times you have to contact microsoft directly which is complete and utter arse
