No file details appearing in My Music folder

since tother day, i have no folder/filenames appearing in the main My Music folder on my harddrive, although all sub-directories appear fine, so i have to hover over the files to get the details appear

u tried right clicking on the top toolbar in the folder and changing the different view options so you can see thew title/artist etc etc?

erm k?

try going to tools/foler options/view/restore defaults or mess around with the myriad of folder stettings in there as it looks like one of these may have been changed somehow

I have to hover over tracks to see bit rate info etc, as i have the tracks set up to be viewed by title/album title underneath. Ed's idea sounds like the only thing to do really

what happens if u cut or copy all the folders into a new folder on your desktop? maybe that will work?

Ignore my last post, i misread your quessie. Im guessing you mean like the texts dissappeared from the root folders. Has it gone or is it white? Try highlighting one. If its white its possible the files have been compressed (via windows option in options panel). All compressed files are displayed in a different colour to usual (blue usually) but they can be changed by the user to another colour

the colours should resets with when kev clicked returned to defaults or so you would think

I think the colour would remain as the files are still compressed.

on of the default options is to show encrypted and compressed files in colour if thats the colour change u mean andy?

there's no text there at all, there's hardly any gap between each folder
